In just over a hundred hours I'll be on the plane for my first international trip (excluding the time Uncle Earl took us into Canadian waters on his boat).
I have a truly interesting combination of excitement and terror.
I have wanted to go on this trip for so long I cannot seem to comprehend that, yes, I really AM going, yet, at the same time, it is so far outside of my experiences and knowledge that I simply don't know what to do / expect. It can be the smallest things that get me worked up like; how am I supposed to change my money? How does one pay for the tube? How do you go through customs?
Then there's the never ending tug-of-war between my pack rat nature and reality. How much stuff is too much stuff? I'm doing my best to bring only one suitcase and my camera bag but I still have to do my packing 'for real', so I'll get back to you on how well that works. However, what am I supposed to do if I get too many souvenirs, or (with the way I'm packing) any souvenirs?
I want to plan for every eventuality- but know so little that I don't even know what 'normal' would be!
While all this goes through my head, I have another day and a half of work and then two days of preparation.
Then, for better or worse, it's over and I'll be on my way!

Coming Together...
Things are actually coming together now.

-I have a place to stay.
-My paperwork is in order.
-I've done a test-packing run.
-I know how I'll get to the dorms.
-I know how I'll pay my bills while I'm gone.
-I have my new (smaller) camera bag.
and I have enough lists to last me the rest of my life.
NOW I'm starting to get excited. In 18 days I will be flying to LONDON!
Here are some pics I like of London, I just couldn't find photo credits for them.

Getting Ready?
I cannot believe that I am supposed to be abroad in just over three weeks! I am not ready at all. I don't know what clothes I am taking (hey- I'm a girl- it matters!), what books, what bags, OMG- I don't even know where I am staying for the end of my trip! Ohhhhh lordy, time to get my tush in GEAR!
To Do:
- Find Lodging for the Clan Ross gathering
- Buy Tattoo Tickets (Edinburgh Military Tattoo, I want to go SO badly!)
- Buy tickets to the Clann Ross gathering (SO excited!)
The rest can wait. I'm so excited! I'm actually going abroad!
